Lower opacity mimics a sheer jelly finish; 100% is a full-coverage crème.
No photo handy? The Polish Color Matcher previews every shade on an illustrated hand instead.
How to choose a polish colour that suits your hands
Undertone matters more than trend. Cool undertones (blue-ish veins, silver jewellery looks best) sit beautifully under blue-based reds, plum, navy and true white. Warm undertones (green-ish veins, gold jewellery wins) glow under terracotta, coral, caramel, olive and warm nudes. Neutral undertones can wear almost anything, which is why rose nude is the most-sold shade family in the US.
Length and shape change the read of a colour: dark, saturated shades visually shorten a short square nail, while the same shade elongates an almond or oval. If your nails are short right now, keep dark colours glossy and the sides bare-clean, or switch to a sheer milky finish.
Photograph your hand in daylight next to a window, never under warm bulbs — indoor lighting adds yellow and will make every nude look muddy in the try-on.
